Waiting for Doctor Who…Without a Time Machine!

Doctor Who fans are facing yet another long period of waiting; sure it doesn’t compare to that one time they waited sixteen years, but the current drought will sure make them wish for a time machine. The next Doctor Who season begins filming at the end of June 2016 and should be released in Spring 2017 with plenty of interesting story twists look forward to. Maisie Williams and Jenna Coleman are off, leaving the door right open behind them, (sorry, we’ll try to keep this spoiler-free in case you haven’t caught up) and new companion Pearl Mackie as Bill seems to revive doctor-companion chemistry that fans have been missing in recent series. Now that Peter Calpaldi has finally gotten a signature sonic screwdriver, well established in his role, upcoming performances are sure to be amazing.  Meanwhile, you know very well that Michelle Gomez’ ever evolving character still has plenty of tricks up her sleeve. How to contain the excitement? Try these fun and silly things to do to keep on waiting for your favorite Blue Box!

  1. Check out the massive library of Doctor Who audio theatre published by Big Finish Productions. Tune in to full cast adventures with amazing sound effects and performances with ALL classic doctors, including War, as well as numerous spinoff series. 1. Organize a Time Traveler flash mob. Everyone just shows up to synch watches, compare sonic screwdrivers, lecture one another about paradoxes, and takes off.

  1. Give some of the Doctor Who novels and comic books a try. The authors of Doctor Who spinoff novels are actually quite engrossed in the time traveler’s mentality, top notch in plot development and lore knowledge.

  1. Go to your favorite nightclub and do the Drunk Giraffe like you just don’t care. If someone laughs knowingly, buy them a drink.

  1. Walk around in public with a miniature TARDIS and discretely talk to it.

  1. Gather your Whovian friends for an evening outside to contemplate the stars. Look for a flying TARDIS, because you are Whovians, and you believe in the doctor.
