Harley Quinn #1 – Review

In Harley Quinn #1, Harley embodies the zaniest manifestation of an antihero the world has ever seen – other than Deadpool ofcourse. With a new home and a cast of characters as colorful as she is, Harley embarks on the next phase of her journey, and it’s ever bit as insane as one could imagine.

Written by Amanda Palmer and Jimmy Palmiotti  and drawn by Artist Chad Hardin and colorist Alex Sinclair, Harley now rolls into town on her bike with whatever belongings she could gather after one of the Jokers latest temper tantrums. The comic starts off showing that Harley is ready to start her new life after picking up the pieces of her broken life. Starting anew can be rough on anyone, but with a bit of luck and a bucket load of insanity, Harley looks to take a step in the right direction. Applying for jobs, paying rent, making friends and of course making enemies along the way.

One thing that we did notice now that Harley is away from the Joker is that she never did commit any crimes for her own self gain, but rather to help another (which the Joker too full advantage of). Don’t get me wrong, she is in no way stable, as she comes up with her own ways of twisted justice to help those in need.

Overall we really enjoyed the beginning of Harleys new adventure on her own. We are all use to her being such a beloved secondary character that it’s about time she had her turn in the spotlight! We highly recommend you pick up this comic and continue on with the series!
