We’re now getting closer and closer to the release of Doctor Strange, the final comic book movie of 2016. After the tepid response to the likes of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and X-Men: Apocalypse, expectations on the movie to make fans happy are beyond high, while it also has the tough task of setting up a new franchise for the Sorcerer Supreme.
How it will fare remains to be seen, but based on this international TV spot for the movie, it really does look great. Among the new snippets of footage here are shots of Stephen Strange’s training under the Ancient One and Wong issuing a warning about the villainous Kaecilius, a character we still know surprisingly little about.
It’s unclear whether or not Marvel will release one final trailer for Doctor Strange, but expect to see plenty more TV spots over the coming weeks and months as the marketing campaign really kicks off. With that should also come everything from new stills to magazine covers and posters.
Set for release on November 4th, later this year, the cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton. It’s an impressive group, and while Doctor Strange has been called yet another “risky” movie for Marvel, it’s quickly becoming apparent that it will instead be perhaps their most inventive and unique release to date.
