Today on Kickstarter I ran into a declining breed of movie – stop motion.
What is MAD GOD?
MAD GOD is an epic stop-motion project by legendary animator Phil Tippett, released in chapters & funded exclusively via Kickstarter. Since the early 90’s, animator Phil Tippett has been crafting an epic homage to the art of stop-motion and continues his legacy with the MAD GOD series.
Released in chapters, MAD GOD is gorgeous and grotesque; by turns darkly humorous, and utterly symphonic in its beautiful – often obsessive – attention to detail and to the legacy of hand-crafted animation.
For those who may not know, Phil Tippett has been involved in the production of Star Wars, Robo Cop, Jurassic Park, Star Ship Troopers and many others.
As of posting this, Phil Tippett’s MAD GOD (Part 3) has 326 backers and is just over half way to reaching his targeted goal.
