The Gears of War franchise is back! Exclusive to the Xbox One, here is what you need to know about this title which was officially revealed at E3 Microsoft press conference in 2015.
Gears of War 4 will star JD Fenix, the son of Marcus Fenix and is set nearly 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3. There are 3 main protagonists in this new title, JD Fenix (Liam McIntyre), Kait Diaz (Laura Bailey), and Delmont Walker, (Del Walker).
Reports from Game Informer revealed that JD and his close friend Del aer on the run after a “classified incident” that fored both men to leave COG. Kait is an outdider, born in the wild lands outside of humanity. She is the daughter of Renya, an important outside figure.
New Story?
The events that happen in Gears of War 4 happen mostly throughout the course of a single day. Gears of War happens 25 years after the events of it’s predecessor. The world is subject to extreme weather conditions. Massive wind storms play a vital role as they will cause havoc with players, blowing away cover and affecting enemy behavior.
Game Informer reports that the weapon used to destroy the Locusts also caused an energy crisis that plunged humankind into a technological dark age. As we found out in the E3 demo, the game is very dark and players will have to rely on their flashlights to illuminate where they travel.
Is Co-Op back?
Yes! Co-Op is back for Gears of War 4. According to Game informer, one person will take the role of JD while the secondary player gets to choose between Del or Kait. Depending on the secondary player chosen, the story elements may change slightly.
